Come by and visit us at the booth! \nWant to Ride with Steve? \nHe will be teaching a 1 day clinic the day before the expo starts (Thursday).  Limited Space Available. \nIntroducing the Rother Ranch Race! \nThis event will be hosted by Steve Rother at the Washington State Horse Expo.\n\nThe opportunity to compete in this Cowboy Challenge/Trail Course will be available to approximately 40 horse and rider teams.\n\nYou will primarily be judged on your horsemanship as far as approach\, execution\, and exit of each obstacle; with bonus points available for time.\n\nThis event is designed to be both fun and challenging.  It is open to all levels of riders\, but there will only be one division.  This will be a great way to get your 2022 horsemanship season off to a good start and an excellent way to showcase you and your horse’s partnership in front of your friends\, family\, and local horse community.\n\nPeople always wonder IF they are ready?\nSurprisingly\, most people are more ready than they think.  If you are sitting on the fence about signing up for the race\, register for one of the Steve Rother Horsemanship Clinics on Thursday March 3rd\, the day prior to the expo.  This will also be the same day as ‘Round 1’ of the race\, which will be at 6pm Thursday March 3rd.\n\nWhat does this mean?\nIt means that you can get extra prepared for the event by attending the clinic just hours before the competition\, in the same arena.  This is what the show world calls a ‘paid warm-up’.  Everyone who attends this clinic may have a ‘step up’ against anyone who doesn’t attend\, but either way you will come away with increased horsemanship knowledge.  So\, win\, lose\, or draw – you have a great opportunity for both you and your horse at the Washington State Horse Expo by entering the Rother Ranch Race!\n\nThere will be two separate classes available for the clinic:\n\nClinic Session 1: Foundation Work (9am-12pm) – Ground control\, mindset\, confidence building\, communication.\nClinic Session 2: Horsemanship (1pm-3pm) – Riding control\, race theory\, obstacle training\, planning your run.\n\nThe cost for each clinic session is just $70\, you can do one or both.  Participation in the Race is not required for the clinics.  You can do one clinic\, one clinic and the Race\, both clinics\, or both clinics and the Race.  Investing in you and your horse’s education and experience is one of the best ways to ensure a bright future for you both.\n\nRother Ranch Race Schedule to come.\nPlease see the registration form for entry fee costs\, awards\, stall fees\, and other details.\n\nRegistration will open soon at: washingtonstatehorseexpo.com

Traveling all over the US and Canada\, he has helped thousands of horses and riders develop more willing partnerships.  His methods and teaching style are unique and produce instant results.  Whether to overcome fears\, or gain more control\, participants will leave the clinic empowered and more excited about reaching their horsemanship goals. \nThis clinic is designed to be an overall learning experience that builds on several aspects of communication\, confidence\, respect\, trust\, impulsion\, and performance. The clinic is open to people of all skill levels and disciplines\, beginner to advanced are welcome.  We also welcome horses of all ages and breeds. \nSome of the things you will learn through the clinic are: \n\nConfidence to overcome fears.\nTools to keep your horse calm\, curious\, and respectful.\nHow to develop safe\, content\, and willing horses.\nFeel and timing to increase your horse’s “try”.\nCommon mistakes of both the horse and rider.\nHow to think from a horse’s point of view.\nWhat to expect from your horse and what to do when your horse does the unexpected.\nHow to accomplish incredible things with your horse.\nKey exercises to unlock your horse’s potential.\nExercises to correct your horse’s bad habits.\nHow to gain overall control of your horse’s five body parts and get your horse supple and responsive.\nHow to make the wrong thing difficult and the right thing easy\, a key lesson for solving problems.\nHow to get the most out of each training session with their horse at the clinic and at home!\n\nEssentially\, we will be teaching you the building blocks for success! \nThis clinic will be split into two classes so that everyone can have extensive one-on-one time with Steve. Participants from both Levels can watch the opposite Level at no cost. \nThe Level 1 Class will be primarily focused towards teaching principles of safety\, communication\, and confidence building for both horse and rider.  This is a great class for anyone who is new or still needing foundation exercises\, lacking confidence\, possibly looking to not canter too much (or wanting to try cantering more)\, having any major issues with their horse (bucking\, rearing\, etc.)\, or themselves.  Green horses (less than 6 months of riding) should be in this class.  We recommend this class if you have not previously done a clinic with Steve.  It will run from 9:00am – 1:30pm. \nThe Level 2 Class will be primarily focused towards teaching more intermediate to advanced principles.  In this class we will assume that you have basic understanding of natural horsemanship groundwork concepts and techniques and are willing to have a ‘go for it’ attitude.  This class will involve advancing your groundwork techniques\, body control\, and riding maneuvers.  If your horse has any behavioral issues (bucking\, rearing\, striking\, etc.)\, this class is not for you.  It will run from 2:00pm – 7:00pm. \nThis clinic builds on concepts that take several days to achieve.
